Cyberpunk 2077: Edge Runners Spin Off Series
The show you didn’t know you needed!

Anime fan? No, not really… Cyberpunk 2077 fan? Haven’t played it either… You will still enjoy it!

The Netflix Anime Original Series will get you hooked with a gripping story that plays out like you’re loading up for the first time in the game. Set in Night City, follow the journey of a newly enhanced cyber individual - David, as he joins a crew and tries to survive in a city obsessed with technology, delving deeper into the criminal underworld.

Characters interact with each other in a mix of emotionally driven, NPC-like cut scenes to set up missions, and intense action scenes with a lot more vivid animation. Together, you get a clear distinction of the main characters' story arc, as if matching the progress you make in the game, with a true reflection of the game's world building told throughout the series as well.

So much of the show is easy to follow without knowing anything about the game, making it enjoyable for just about anyone. As long as you can appreciate the anime style, and stomach some overly gruesome scenes, it might even make you want to pick up a copy of the game to play.

Personally, I’ve been debating with myself whether to play Cyberpunk 2077 for a while, but the game's dodgy release stopped me from giving it a fair shot, so I left it. After watching the show now, I understand what the game is about a lot more, and I am incredibly excited to try it for the first time. That's about all I can say about the show without spoiling it for you.

Edge Runners has a great cast dubbing the English version, notably Giancarlo Esposito, who fans might know from Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian, and The Boys. See the full cast details below.
